Circuitization

Lower cost, more value

Our engineers have extensive experience in circuitization, a process integral to Risk Based Inspection. CANEIL adds value by lowering inspection and maintenance costs associated with asset degradation by creating corrosion circuits from Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s). CANEIL can step in at any stage in the life cycle of an asset to offer our experience and expertise in creating corrosion circuits.

Why is it important?

Corrosion circuits are divisions of piping in a process system that share similar process parameters (composition, temperature, pressure etc.) and a similar degree of risk in the event of failure due to degradation. Unchecked, this can result in leaking, pipe separation, wall thickness thinning, and hazardous product release. These corrosion circuits are assigned condition monitoring locations (CMLs) along piping and on pressure equipment, allowing for more reliable and cost-effective inspection plans.

In addition to increasing efficiency and reliability for our client’s integrity and inspection programs, circuitization is a risk management tool that fosters a safer overall plant environment for site personnel.
