Erik Pasay, P.Eng
Senior Electrical Engineer
With over 20 years of experience in transmission engineering, construction, and commissioning, Erik brings deep expertise across utility, industrial, and consulting environments. A professional engineer registered with EGBC, he holds degrees in electrical engineering (power systems) and physics from the University of Alberta.
His experience spans the full project lifecycle, from front-end design, protection philosophy, and engineering specifications through to procurement, construction oversight, and commissioning.
He has held senior engineering and owner’s engineer roles with BC Hydro, SaskPower, Stantec, and ATCO Electric, delivering protection & control, stations, and substation projects across voltage classes from distribution to 500kV.
His project experience includes 350 MW power stations, large-scale wind farm interconnections, GIS substation packages, and safety-critical upgrades to highly compensated EHV transmission systems, giving him a strong technical foundation for tackling complex and time-sensitive transmission projects.
With hands-on commissioning experience across relays, circuit breakers, transformers, CTs, and PTs, Erik pairs strong design and engineering authority with practical field expertise, giving CANEIL clients a single point of contact who understands their assets from design through to commissioning.
